Best Dispensaries in Michigan

Michigan has seen a thriving cannabis industry grow since the state legalized recreational consumption in 2018. In this article, Jointly will highlight some of the best dispensaries in Michigan. Of course, this list is not exhaustive. If your favorite dispensary is missing, give us a shout on social media! And if you’re a little far from these dispensaries, check out Jointly to buy legal cannabis and CBD products and have them shipped discreetly to your door.

Read on to discover the best dispensaries Michigan has to offer, from Detroit all the way out to Traverse City and De Tour Village.

Only By Nature

  • 103 Ontario St, De Tour Village, MI 49725
  • Order in-person or online
  • Online orders must be picked up in-store

Only By Nature caters to recreational cannabis consumers and medical patients based in the Upper Peninsula from its De Tour Village location.

With its dispensary storefront just a five minute walk from the Drummond Island Ferry terminal, Only By Nature is also an easy stop for folks traveling to or from the island.

“Only By Nature, I guess, just comes from my heart,” owner Harry Funtukis says in a video on the dispensary’s Instagram account. “Everything in here should be as [natural] as possible in today’s life.”

Only By Nature features a wide range of flower, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates, vape cartridges, tinctures, topicals, and consumption accessories, as well as a variety of CBD products.

Menu highlights include excellent options for consumers looking to explore the benefits of combining CBD and THC. Good options to start include an infused oral spray with a 1:1 THC to CBD ratio from YouMist, which is great for quick, easy, sugar-free edible dosing while on-the-go, and a tincture with the same ratio.

Only By Nature also carries two types of powerful Rick Simpson Oil, which is a great option for consumers looking for a high-dose product to help, for example, ease everyday pain.

City Hall Provisions

  • 222 S Maple St, Fennville, MI 49408
  • Order in-person or online
  • Delivery available

City Hall Provisions is a place for community, and the dispensary’s brick-and-mortar location in Fennville, Michigan’s former town hall is just one testament to the company’s efforts to put its customers first.

“It’s more of an experience,” owner Patt Dewenter told the Holland Sentinel. “Rather than running in and grabbing your weed, it’s a much more personalized thing. We’re super friendly, and you can just come in and have a cup of coffee and hang out.”

Luckily for the dispensary, hanging out and cannabis can be a perfect pairing.

As part of properly serving the community, City Hall Provisions also places an emphasis on cannabis education.

“Educating the public about cannabis is also one of our biggest priorities,” the company states on its website.

“Whether you’re a medical patient, a recreational customer, or someone who’s just curious about cannabis, our expert budtenders provide our customers with the information they need to enjoy cannabis products safely and responsibly.”

In addition to consulting with City Hall Provisions’ budtenders to build their cannabis knowledge base, consumers can explore the dispensary’s educational blog content, which covers everything from cannabis-infused recipe suggestions to postings about upcoming educational events.

City Hall Provisions’ menu has a uniquely varied and well-curated selection of CBD products, making this dispensary a great option for users looking to explore the wellness-enhancing aspects of cannabis without experiencing the psychoactive effects of THC.

This isn’t to say the dispensary is lacking in excellent THC-rich products — City Hall Provisions offers a full range of flower, pre-rolls, vape cartridges, concentrates, edibles, tinctures, topicals, and accessories.

NOBO Goods

  • Multiple locations
  • Order in-person or online
  • Online orders must be picked up in-store

NOBO Goods is one of Michigan’s premier vertically-integrated cannabis companies, and its dispensary locations showcase NOBO’s excellent lines of in-house branded flower, edibles, and vape cartridges.

“Our team of dedicated cultivation professionals is deeply rooted in growing in a sustainable manner that allows us to consistently produce the best products available today,” the company states on its website.

“Our thorough growing procedures have led us to cultivate nationally recognized and highly sought after proprietary strains.”

NOBO gets creative with its edible options in particular, creating unique products like Spicy Jane Hot Sauce, which can add a few milligrams of THC to nearly any savory dish — “Try it on chicken, enhance your mac n' cheese or dash a little on your french fries,” NOBO suggests.

NOBO operates three dispensary locations in Benton harbor, Edwardsburg, and Muskegon, all with a wide selection of flower, pre-rolls, vape cartridges, concentrates, edibles, tinctures, and topicals, plus CBD products and consumption accessories.

On-site budtenders “equipped with an expert understanding of the cannabis space” are ready “to provide consumers with the information they need to appreciate all the benefits of cannabis,” the company states.

Menu highlights for wellness-oriented consumers include the Mischief PM gummies, which are perfect for winding down at the end of the day, and NOBO’s line of cured resin vaporizer cartridges, which maximize the potency of their source product while preserving the full spectrum of compounds available.

Nobody’s Home

  • 90 W Main St, Benton Harbor, MI 49022
  • Order in-person or online
  • Online orders must be picked up in-store

Owned by former NBA star and Benton Harbor native Wilson Chandler, Nobody’s Home looks to set itself apart with a selection of top quality products curated by and for knowledgeable cannabis users.

“We’re not like everybody else. We are cannabis users and consumers of this product. We have a passion for it, so we want to be able to offer just a little but more than what everyone else is offering – experience, education and top-quality products,” store manager José Matos told local news outlet WSJM when the dispensary opened its doors in July 2022.

“We’re working with companies that you don’t see too far out here – with products you don’t see in a store that’s vertically integrated… By keeping a low vendor list, it allows us to guarantee we’re not just pumping out products we produce ourselves to where we feel obligated we have to sell to make a profit.”

Wellness-oriented consumers will appreciate Nobody’s Home’s extensive selection of flower, pre-rolls, vape cartridges, concentrates, edibles, tinctures, topicals, and consumption accessories — all of which can be easily found thanks to the online menu’s filters for cannabinoids, potency, effects, and more.

Nobody’s Home also features wallet-friendly prices, with full gram vape cartridges going for as low as $12 and full ounces of flower as low as $80 at the time of this writing.

North Coast Provisions

  • Multiple locations
  • Order in-person or online
  • Delivery available

North Coast Provisions, which operates a delivery service as well as storefronts in Adrian, Ann Arbor, and Sault Ste Marie, bills itself as cannabis by and for Michiganders.

“Our founders grew up and currently reside in the Great Lakes State. We’ve spent weekends Up North, camped out at MIS, listened to concerts from the lawn at DTE (aka Pine Knob), watched The Wings at The Joe, and sat around a bonfire on a Michigan fall night,” the company states.

“We truly know and love our home state and recognize that our fellow Michiganders demand quality marijuana products at a fair price.”

North Coast’s founders also own and operate FLWRpot, a cannabis cultivation company with multiple High Times Cannabis Cup winners under its belt.

“Our focus is on plant development,” FLWRpot states on its website. “We focus development on a strain specific basis, terpene retention, and proper packaging, ensuring a premium product. FLWRpot craft cannabis is grown with the passion and knowledge of decades-old growers' experience.”

Consumers looking to order or pick up from North Coast can explore the full range of FLWRpot strains by effect (such as pain or anxiety relief) or situation (such as exercising or watching a movie) on North Coast’s website.

Menu highlights include Cannabis Cup winning strains Thunderstruck — “a perfect 1:1 THC:CBD strain,” according to the company — and Tropicana Cherry.

Olswell

  • Multiple locations
  • Order in-person or online
  • Online orders must be picked up in-store

Olswell is working to change the cannabis retail experience in Michigan by boosting customer engagement and education, as well as by stocking quality products.

“Within our provisioning centers as well as the greater community, Olswell strives to help people of all experience levels feel comfortable with cannabis. We feel this combination of honest advocacy and strategic business offers the perfect balance for success in today’s cannabis marketplace,” the company states.

Consumers don’t even need to visit or call an Olswell dispensary (or “provisioning center,” as the company calls them) to get advice on what cannabis products might best fit their wellness needs. The Olswell website also features an artificial intelligence-powered budtender chat function powered by StrainBrain, allowing wellness-oriented consumers easy access to cannabis product knowledge.

Menu highlights for wellness-oriented consumers include the 1:1 Go Drops from 1906, which are a great choice for 1:1 THC:CBD microdosing on the go, and CBN-infused gummies from CannabisPM, which can help promote healthy sleep.

Olswell operates brick-and-mortar storefronts in Traverse City, Grand Rapids, and Adrian, with a future location planned for Detroit.

The dispensaries in Grand Rapids and Adrian carry a full range of flower, pre-rolls, edibles, vape cartridges, concentrates, tinctures, topicals, and consumption accessories. Based on its online menu, it seems the Traverse City location limits its stock to vaporizers, edibles, and accessories.

The WellFlower

  • Multiple locations
  • Order in-person or online
  • Online orders must be picked up in-store

The WellFlower, co-founded by cousins Dr. Rob McCurren and Trent McCurren, operates dispensaries in Manistee, Ypsilanti, and Whitmore Lake with menus featuring a variety of flower, pre-rolls, vape cartridges, concentrates, edibles, tinctures, topicals, CBD products, and consumption accessories.

The McCurrens have also taken the leap into cannabis cultivation and processing, and dispensary visitors can find products from their Scout brand of flower and concentrates and All Good line of infused gummies at the WellFlower.

Wellness-oriented consumers might be most interested in the strain-specific vape cartridges from Scout, which can serve as a convenient alternative to flower for consumers who have found a strain with a terpene profile they consistently benefit from.

Cannabis connoisseurs will want to keep an eye on the WellFlower’s Fresh Drops page as well, which notifies consumers when the “fresh and newest cannabis products and strains” have arrived at each of the company’s dispensaries.

The WellFlower has also gotten involved with cannabis-related activism, hosting an event at the Ypsilanti dispensary where individuals affected by the War on Drugs could get help for having their criminal records expunged.

The event took place thanks to the combined efforts of the WellFlower, Scout Cannabis, the Great Lakes Expungement Network, the Washtenaw County Prosecutor's Office Conviction Integrity and Expungement Unit, and Ypsilanti City Council.

Winewood Organics

  • 2394 Winewood Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48103
  • Order in-person or online
  • Delivery available ($100 minimum)

Winewood Organics, which bills itself as “Ann Arbor’s only cannabis microbusiness,” is a relatively small operation bound by a state law limiting cannabis microbusinesses to just 150 plants in their growing facility.

But what Winewood lacks in scale it more than makes up for in attention to detail and natural, hands-on growing techniques that result in a top quality product, according to the company.

“This is as close to farm-to-table as you can get in Michigan. We are former caregivers obsessed with natural growing practices and quality,” says founder and cultivation expert Eric Parkhurst. “We don’t cut corners or add chemicals, bloom boosters, or other harmful additives. This is single-source, organic cannabis that you can trust and enjoy fully.”

According to its website, Winewood orders a custom probiotic soil blend from Morgan Composting in nearby Sears and continues to process and trim each harvest by hand.

Winewood’s cannabis flower is sold as-is or in pre-rolled joints, as well as in processed form through concentrates, live resin vape cartridges, infused gummies and chocolates, and tinctures.

Winewood is also one of the few cannabis cultivators in the state to produce and sell bubble hash – an old-school style of concentrate made “by compressing trichomes into a substance that can be smoked, dabbed, vaporized, or made into edibles.”

Hash is a great high-potency option for wellness-oriented consumers looking to ease everyday pain. It’s also a great option for any consumer looking to boost the potency of their cannabis flower, as hash can easily be mixed in with ground flower to boost any joint or bowl.

Check out the company’s Hash Bar page for more information.

Apothecare

  • 2793 Plymouth Rd Ste C, Ann Arbor, MI 48105
  • Order in-person or online
  • Online orders must be picked up in-store

Apothecare serves medical marijuana patients and recreational customers in the Ann Arbor area and features an especially large selection of CBD products — including the company’s own CBD-infused options, such as these CBD and CBN-infused melatonin gummies.

Apothecare was also the state’s first certified organic dispensary, according to the Detroit Metro Times.

“We wanted to have top quality products. That is what people are used to smoking in Ann Arbor,” sales and marketing manager Drew Hall told M Live. “We’re a boutique, small-batch, like a micro-brewery for cannabis.”

“We know Ann Arbor has a long history for medical use and caregivers. We’re hoping the community sees us as a good source for clean, high potency, high flavor and well-maintained product in general,” he added.

For individuals interested in acquiring a medical marijuana card, Apothecare’s in-house physician, Dr. Lisa Profera, is available for consultations. Profera can also help patients track down the best products for their own needs, combining her knowledge of medicine and the cannabis industry to point consumers in the right direction.

In Michigan specifically, medical patients are exempt from certain taxes on cannabis products and access to a wider range of products, as some products are not available to recreational consumers.

This isn’t to say Apothecare doesn’t have excellent wellness-focused products on its recreational menu as well. Wellness-oriented cannabis consumers will appreciate a full range of flower, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates, vape cartridges, topicals, and tinctures – all sortable by feelings (such as relaxed or energetic) or activities (such as “get relief” or “stimulate my mind”).

The Refinery

  • Multiple locations
  • Order in-person or online
  • Online orders must be picked up in-store

The Refinery is a great spot for DIY-friendly cannabis consumers thanks to its selection of strain-specific shake from Priority Pak — perfect for cooking up THC-infused sugarbutterhoney, or tinctures at home while knowing the terpene profiles from the source material.

And, at $50-60 for 2 ounces of shake, cannabis cooking newbies will have plenty of room to make mistakes and try multiple batches without having to shell out unreasonable amounts of cash.

The Refinery’s prices are similarly low across the board, with ounces of flower going for as low as $50 and an ongoing deal for $10 vape cartridges. These deals help make the wellness-enhancing potential of cannabis accessible even to consumers working with tight budgets.

For wellness-focused consumers, menu highlights include a variety of solventless, hash-based concentrates and multiple Rick Simpson Oil options. The Refinery carries a wide selection of flower, pre-rolls, vape cartridges, edibles, concentrates, topicals, CBD products, and consumption accessories.

The Refinery has brick-and-mortar locations in Kalamazoo (recreational purchases only) and Detroit (medical patients only), and a future location is planned for Traverse City.
