Best dispensaries in Mississippi

In February 2022, Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves signed the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act, allowing the state to initiate its medical cannabis program. In this article, Jointly will highlight some of the best dispensaries in Mississippi. These dispensaries are at the forefront of the state’s new market, poised to bring cannabis products and education to those who need it.

Of course, this list is not exhaustive. If your favorite dispensary is missing, give us a shout on social media! And if you’re a little far from these dispensaries, check out Jointly to buy legal cannabis and CBD products and have them shipped discreetly to your door.

Please be aware that, in Mississippi, cannabis can only be purchased and consumed by individuals with a medical cannabis card.

The Cannabis Company

  • 939 Brookway Boulevard Suite L, Brookhaven, MS 39601
  • Order in-person or online
  • Online orders must be picked up in-store

The Cannabis Company, based in Brookhaven, was the first dispensary in the state to sell medical marijuana when legal sales were allowed on January 26, 2023.

“We are making history. This is a new industry and I know we will be a part of history. Fifty years from now they will see we are the first ones to have a permit here,” co-owner Le Anne Penn told the Daily Leader.

“I was a body technician for 40 years. I decided to pursue this because I saw the potential in the industry and the need in people,” added co-owner Mitch Parker. “Hopefully this will help people who need it or can’t take opioids or other medicines.”

“This is only the beginning. More and more businesses will be harvesting, testing and getting their products on the shelves in the coming months; therefore, more patients will have access to this medicine at certified businesses all across the state,” Mississippi Medical Marijuana Association Executive Director Ken Newburger said of the opening.

The Daily Leader reports that customers visiting the dispensary’s brick-and-mortar location can view “products, brands, strains and effects and uses of products” on a digital menu. The dispensary’s staff are available to consult with patients about the best products for their specific needs.

The Cannabis Company stocks a variety of flower, edibles, and concentrates, as well as accessories for consumption. Menu highlights include Hippie Crasher flower from Good Flower Farms (available for $23 per eighth and noted for its effectiveness for relaxationpain relief, and stress relief) and a selection of tinctures from Mississippi-based concentrate experts Noble Labs, perfect for subtle dosing.

The Cannabis Company goes above and beyond to ensure a tailored experience for its customers by featuring Jointly Matches for personalized product recommendations, making it an ideal stop for locals or visitors. If you’re in the area, you can purchase products on the Jointly app and conveniently pick them up at this dispensary.

Bee’s Buds

  • 14313 Stenum Street #A, Biloxi, MS 39532
  • Online/in-person sales
  • Online orders must be picked up in-store

Bee’s Buds, which serves patients in the D’iberville, St Martin, and Biloxi area, is an excellent example of how medical-first dispensaries can effectively prioritize the needs of patients new and old.

“Our biggest thing is that we love helping people, and the reason why I got into this is because I know that this will help a lot of patients, and they won’t have the side effects that a lot of them do with medications and stuff, so we’re really excited about that,” CEO Barbara Wilson, who has a professional background as a nurse, told local news station WXXV.

A huge aspect of the dispensary’s emphasis on education is its consultation program. Through the program, patients can book a private consultation with a Bee’s Buds budtender to have a thorough, informative discussion about how cannabis can help them achieve their wellness goals.

The dispensary also dedicates a portion of its website to providing education about cannabis and the types of medical conditions that cannabis can help combat.

What sets Bee’s Buds education content page apart is its simplicity. Rather than presenting a list or carousel of articles, Bee’s Buds keeps important information about everything from the different parts of the cannabis plant to basic explanations of common terpenes and their effects on one, easy-to-read page.

Bee’s Buds carries an assortment of flower, vape cartridges, edibles, and consumption accessories.

Good Day Farm

  • Multiple Locations
  • Online/in-person sales
  • Online orders must be picked up in-store

Good Day Farm is one of the largest companies on this list, boasting Mississippi dispensary locations in Biloxi, Brookhaven, Corinth, Hattiesburg, Laurel, and Tupelo in addition to a smattering of locations in Missouri and Arkansas.

That scale comes with the benefit of allowing Good Day to bring a variety of products to market, and each of the company’s dispensary locations carries an assortment of flower (including pre-rolled joints and blunts), edibles, and vape cartridges from its vertically-integrated product line.

Good Day’s award-winning line of gluten-free, vegan cannabis-infused gummies are one of the highlights of the company’s menus.

Good Day produces four distinct types of gummies. The first of these is the “Traditional” line, which focuses on potency and will provide the slower onset and longer-lasting effects typically associated with cannabis edibles. The traditional edibles are also available in an even more potent “High Dose” version.

The company also produces a line of “Fast-Acting Nano” edibles, which use a proprietary technology involving sound waves to increase the bioavailability of the cannabinoids in these edibles, resulting in a significantly faster onset time for their effects.

Lastly, Good Day produces two types of goal-oriented gummies perfectly suited for consumers looking to incorporate cannabis into their wellness routine. The “Wellness” line uses different ratios of THC to CBD to produce effects that promote “balance, calm, and relief.” The “Night Night” line instead combines THC and CBN to improve consumers’ sleep.

A final highlight from Good Day’s broader edible selection is the full spectrum honey, which the company creates by infusing cannabis extract with all-natural, local honey from farms in Arkansas and Missouri.

Magnolia Hemp Co.

  • 1716 US-51 Suite D, Madison, MS 39110
  • Online/in-person sales
  • Online orders can be shipped through the mail

Unlike the rest of the companies included on this list, Madison-based Magnolia Hemp Co. focuses exclusively on CBD-infused products.

Thanks to this focus, the company carries a huge range of CBD products tailored to a variety of wellness goals and consumption method preferences, including tinctures, edibles, flower, pre-rolls, topicals, and vape cartridges.

Menu highlights include a CBD-only version of the classic high-dose Rick Simpson Oil product, as well as unique butter cream caramel and saltwater taffy edibles from the century-old gourmet candy company Patsy’s.

Users can navigate the menu by selecting their preferred consumption method or intended consumption goal, such as relieving generalized or localized pain

The company also sells a range of CBD products for bath and body, including a CBD bath bomb and pre-roll combo pack from Creative Bath Design, CBD-infused bath salts, and oils intended to help enhance intimacy.

“Christi [Hardy] and I started Magnolia Hemp Company to begin sharing information about cannabis to our community,” co-owner Michael Hardy tells Jointly. “We provide a safe, comfortable place where people, even those that aren’t familiar with cannabis, can come and learn about the health benefits provided by cannabis.”

Sweetgrass

  • Edgewater Mall 2650 Beach Blvd. Suite 3, Biloxi, MS 39532
  • In-person sales only

With one location in Biloxi and a planned future location in Ocean Springs, Sweetgrass has big plans for cannabis consumers in Mississippi. According to the company’s website, Sweetgrass plans on expanding operations to New Jersey, Michigan, and the U.K. as cannabis markets are implemented in those areas.

Their educational blog, which touches on everything from how to get a medical cannabis card in Mississippi to recommendations for safe use, speaks to the dispensary’s emphasis on intentional cannabis consumption as part of a broader wellness regimen.

Upon the February 2023 opening of the company’s Biloxi dispensary location, Vice President and Managing Partner Mariah Wells told local news station WLOX that the dispensary staff’s knowledge and the aesthetics of the location itself are expected to be inviting to customers.

“We want to make sure that when they come in they feel welcomed, they feel greeted,” she said. “We want to be able to sit down and talk to them about the different products that we have to make sure that we getting them the best thing for them and for their ailments.”

The dispensary’s menu also reflects an emphasis on cannabis as a wellness tool, featuring high-dose tinctures for medical cannabis patients looking to ease everyday pain and vape cartridges intended to produce various wellness-oriented sensations, such as being energetic or feeling calm.

To check out the full menu and speak to a budtender about what cannabis products might best fit your wellness goals, visit Sweetgrass’ Biloxi location — the dispensary does not yet have a full online menu.

River Remedy

  • 5925 I-55 South, Byram, MS 39272
  • Online/in-person sales
  • Online orders must be picked up in-store

Self-described “boutique” cannabis company River Remedy also bills itself as a dispensary where education and customer wellness come first.

“The new dispensary was designed with patient care and safety as top priorities,” the company said in a press release announcing the opening of the company’s first dispensary location in Byram.

“The team of experts at River Remedy underwent extensive training on all aspects of medicinal marijuana use so that every patient knows exactly what they’re purchasing and can make an informed decision about their health needs,” the company adds.

One factor making River Remedy particularly unique is that the company is one of the few vertically-integrated cannabis brands in Mississippi. River Remedy has a hand in every stage of the cultivation process for its own branded cannabis products, and the company details some of the production and post-harvest process in its educational content.

Other helpful educational content describes the process for acquiring a medical cannabis card in Mississippi and provides guidance on everything from terpenes to the sativa vs. indica divide.

And, located helpfully on the company website’s homepage, is an interactive guide intended to help users track down the right products for their goals, whether through a broader filter for seeking feelings of claritycalm, or comfort or more specifically through a filter for specific symptoms such as painnausea, and cancer or HIV-related weight loss.

The company does also stock products from other companies, such as the Wavelength line of vape cartridges. River Remedy cannabis is available at dispensaries operated by several other companies on this list.

River Remedy’s menu includes a wide selection of flower (including pre-rolls), vape cartridges, edibles, tinctures, and consumption accessories.

Herbal Alchemy

  • 3016 Hwy 51 S, Hernando, MS 38632
  • Online/in-person sales
  • Online orders must be picked up in-store

Herbal Alchemy was the first medical cannabis dispensary — and the first all female-owned dispensary — to open in DeStoto County, with its Hernando dispensary opening its doors to patients for the first time in early 2023.

“I believe in this medicine so much and am passionate enough to give my time to it,” co-founder Sarah Kalkstein told the DeSoto Times-Tribune. “I’ve seen people of all ages and demographics realize that there is an alternative to any medical issue rather than taking pills.”

“They have been told that opioids are the only way to manage their symptoms. Cannabis has never been an option until now,” added co-founder Elizabeth Barnett, who the Times-Tribune reported has experience with pain management and cancer clinics.

“I could see that they were desperate for another option,” she said.

As part of Herbal Alchemy’s emphasis on education and matching consumers with the best cannabis products for their wellness needs, the dispensary’s budtenders are trained to help connect consumers to products they might not know about, according to Barnett.

“Once you’re in, our people will guide you in the right direction. You may know exactly what you want but there are a lot of people who don’t know what’s available,” she told DeSoto County News.

“We have to go through a lot of training, several, several hours of training, just before we could ever get our permit… My goal is to have people in here who can help those who are not as familiar with the product as well as really good customer service.”

Herbal Alchemy has a wide-ranging selection of flower, pre-rolls, edibles, and vape cartridges available for purchase through the company website, as well as a variety of consumption accessories.

Noble Labs

  • 241 Old Hwy 98 E Tylertown, Mississippi 39667
  • In-person sales only (product overview available online)

Noble Labs is one of the leading producers of cannabis concentrates, extracts, and extract-based products in Mississippi, and its Tylertown cultivation and processing center also features a dispensary.

“Noble Labs was established with the goal of obtaining a processing license from the State of Mississippi to provide a well-controlled supply chain of safe and consistent cannabis-based medicine to patients statewide,” the company states on its website.

That well-controlled supply chain starts with the company’s growing and processing facility. While some of Noble Labs’ flower is set aside for pre-rolls (available in proprietary sativa, indica, and hybrid blends), much of it goes on to be processed into concentrates (sold in vape cartridges only), tinctures, gummies, or bath bombs.

Noble Labs utilizes hydrocarbon extraction, a popular process that results in a “a clean consistent and quality concentration of the cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids that make cannabis such an effective medicine,” according to the company.

For wellness-oriented cannabis consumers looking to explore the potential of combining THC and CBD in the same session, the company’s 20:1 CBD to THC ratio tincture might be just the thing. Noble Labs also produces a high-THC version of the tincture — perfect for high-dose pain relief, Jointly user reports suggest — as well as gummies for those looking for an alternative discreet consumption method.

Magnolia Green

  • 940 US-90, Waveland, MS 39576
  • In-person sales only

Magnolia Green, which focuses its operations on serving the Mississippi Gulf Coast, has one currently open location in Waveland and two additional locations planned for neighboring Bay St. Louis.

Magnolia Green also shares easily understood information regarding conditions medical cannabis may be helpful for and the process potential patients must go through in order to receive a valid medical cannabis card.

The menu options at Magnolia Green are somewhat limited — as of this writing, the company only stocks seven strains of flower.

With that being said, it's possible that Magnolia Green, like many cannabis dispensary companies seeking a foothold in Mississippi’s brand-new medical cannabis market, is currently limiting its stock to avoid violating the strict limitations on how much cannabis an individual may purchase at one time.

If Mississippi follows the path of other states that initially created a medical market before expanding to a less-strictly-regulated recreational market, consumers in the Magnolia State can look forward to expanded menu options in the future.

In the meantime, the dispensary’s budtenders can help medical cannabis patients make the most of the options available to them.

For example, the dispensary’s Granddaddy Purple strain is rich in myrcene, which can be helpful for medical patients looking to relax or improve sleep. The Gary Payton strain, known for high levels of caryophyllene, might be helpful for easing anxiety as well.

Dabbs Cannabis Dispensary

  • 1510 Simpson Hwy 149, Mendenhall, MS 39114
  • Online/in-person sales
  • Online orders must be picked up in-store

Located in a restored gas station from 1966, Dabbs Cannabis Dispensary’s Mendenhall location opened in early 2023, initially selling only pre-rolled joints. Since then, the Dabbs’ menu has been updated to include loose flower, vape cartridges, and edibles as well.

“We are super excited,” co-owner Bobby Britton told local news station WAPT at the time of the dispensary’s opening. “This has been a long-time coming. We started this journey in the summer, and we've been full throttle, and we're super excited to finally be at the finish line to help our patients.”

Britton credits his background as a military veteran as an influence on his decision to seek out the wellness benefits of cannabis, according to another interview with local news station WJTV.

“I’m a combat veteran myself and cannabis has actually relieved so much pain from that. So, that’s the reason why I got into it, to support the vets going through the same thing,” he said.

Menu highlights for wellness-oriented medical cannabis patients include infused gummies from River Remedy and Noble Labs, as well as 1:1 THC to CBD ratio vape cartridges and a variety of flower from Good Day Farms.
