Product choice is half of your experience - and we have the data to prove it

Product choice is one of the most important factors in achieving your goals with cannabis.

According to Jointly's latest data, product choice impacts the effectiveness of a cannabis experience by 40-57%! But several other factors may also have a big impact on your cannabis experience, depending on your goal. Additionally, Jointly data indicates that different factors are important for different goals. Keep reading to see the data.

Where does this data come from?

The Jointly app is a free wellness platform designed around 11 goals that people can achieve with cannabis. Jointly users rate products based on how well they help them achieve their goals. With Jointly, you can get matched to top-rated cannabis products and track your cannabis use so you can discover what works for you. Products are rated based on how well Jointly users feel a product helps them achieve wellness goals like improved sleep, enhanced intimate moments, or relief from aches and pains.

You can also use the Jointly app to track the 15 factors that can impact your cannabis experience - these include the product you choose, your dose, and who you’re with.

Product choice reigns supreme

In general, the most important factor in your cannabis experience will be the product you choose. Cannabis product choice impacts the effectiveness of a cannabis experience by 40-57%. That's why Jointly allows you to see how other users like you rate a cannabis product. With Jointly, you can make an informed decision about what products are right for you and your goals.

The second most important factor is the cannabis dose you ingest. The amount of cannabis you consume will have a direct impact on your experience. If you consume too much, you may feel anxious or paranoid. On the other hand, if you don't consume enough, you may not feel the desired effects. It's important to find the right balance for you, and that may take some trial and error. Jointly can help you track your doses and their effects so that you can more easily find your sweet spot.

Let’s take a look at the data:

To come up with this data, we looked at histograms converted to area charts showing what percentage of products (with 24 or more ratings) fall within a certain range of goal averages. For example, for Relax & Refresh, 20.8% of products fall within an average of 6.6 - 6.8.

To visualize this data, we used histograms converted to area charts. The range sizes are indicated by the x-axis tick marks and fluctuate a bit based on what made the best visualization. Three of them have a range of 0.2, but pain is 0.5 due to some gaps using 0.2.

When it comes to having a successful cannabis experience, product choice is key. By knowing your goals and preferences, you can find the perfect product to give you the experience you’re after. And you can easily track it all on the Jointly app.

Based on our findings, we believe that the best way to achieve your goals with cannabis is to choose a top-rated cannabis product and to be mindful of the dose that you are taking. By keeping in mind these two conditions, you will be well on your way to achieving the experience you’re after.

But factors other than dose and product choice have a big impact on your cannabis experience as well.

As a cannabis consumer discovers how to create the conditions for the kind of experience they’re after, their results improve. Jointly’s data confirm this. Factors that aren’t about product and dose can improve perceived product performance by about 40-50%, depending on the goal.

What are the five most important factors for each goal?

Jointly data showed that for things like improving sleep, the quality of your diet and how full or empty your stomach is can have a significant impact.

For stimulating appetite, the time of day you ingest cannabis can be an important factor.

And for replacing other substances, the device you use to ingest cannabis can make a big difference.

Check out the graphic below for a visualization of the top five most important factors for each goal.

Here's how Jointly derived this data:

Values were determined by taking the difference between the lowest and highest condition for each factor and then calculating percentages based on the individual factor difference - or the sum of differences across all factors.

If you pay attention to the top five most impactful factors for your goal, you might find that each of them have a major impact on whether or not you are achieving your goals with cannabis.

In conclusion, choosing the right product, dose, and delivery method is essential to having a successful cannabis experience. By considering your specific goals and preferences, you can narrow down your options and find the perfect product for you. For example, if you're looking to improve your sleep, you might want to try a CBD-based product that can be taken orally. If you're looking to stimulate your appetite, you might want to try a THC-based product that can be inhaled. And if you're looking to replace other substances, you might want to try a vape pen with a cartridge filled with distillate oil. No matter what your goal is, there's a cannabis product out there that can help you achieve it - and Jointly is here to help you find it.
